Manners in the Zendo
Please wear dark (preferably black) clothing that is loose fitting and modest.
Please remover your shoes upon entering and place them in the shoe rack by the door.
Enter the zendo quietly, place your hands together, and bow toward the altar.
Find a cushion or seat to use. Bow first to your seat, turn to the right to face the group and bow. Be seated.
Please sit quietly until it is time to begin.
If you are new to zazen, don't worry about making a mistake. Follow along as best you can and we'll be there to help you along the way.
